Need some help.

I was just wondering if anybody had a link to a site or some other information on how to swap out a 1911 safety. I am new to the whole modifying 1911's, the one I had before was fully furnished, LOL.

Well, first off, you'll almost certainly need a replacement set of grips, as most stock grips don't have the relief cut inletted into the grip for the right-side grip panel.

Wilson Combat sells a great 1911 disassembly-assembly video. This should take you most of the way you need to go.

I'm sure others here can point you in other helpful directions.

My new S&W 1911PD actually came with the relief for the tang on the ambi safety, so that should not be a problem. Looks like they just used the same set of grips for the models with and without the ambi safety. Thanks for the direction.
