My daughter just bought a house in Leominster, she's having problems with her kitchen sink. It won't drain, plunging didn't help so she put Draino in, I know, big mistake. Anyway, she would rather pay someone from NES so I'm asking here first. If you PM my your contact info I will forward it to her. Thank you in advance.

Liquid Plummer isn’t all that bad. Many professional say to use it when you have some organic matter stopping things up.

Have her go to the local HW store and pick up a drain cleaner.

Power auger and vari speed pistol drill. The backup is where the drain meets the stack. Jack.

    Why is Draino bad?

Normal plungers suck. Grab a Rothenberger Ropump, plug the overflow (on bath sinks and tubs) and no proximate trap clog is safe from it.

Not cheap, but cheaper than a plumber/roto-rooter once and saves your butt many times over. Had mine for almost 20 years now.

Because if it doesn't work the plumber who is called to fix it has to deal with caustic chemicals in the pipes.

Just take out the trap. if it's not plugged and you don't have a power auger, snake the line. Not rocket science. Jack.

Waste plumbing isn't generally put together as tightly as supply plumbing. Power plunging can have messy unintended consequences. Removing the trap and a small snake usually works.

I only use sucton after filling the sink or tub with a few inches of water. Everything comes right up.
