Need Help Identifying Glock

I just bought a Glock 19 at a reputable dealer. It's got 8 letters/digits on the bottom of it, starting with CGL. I was trying to figure out what the build date was, but I compared it to the list of prefixes on Glocktalk and I couldn't figure it out. Any idea?

My Glock has serial number xxxyyy, when was it made?

First, check this thread over at GlockTalk.com to see if it is listed there. If that fails call Glock with your serial number and they will tell you the date of your gun.

Thanks for the replies. I saw that thread, but next to CGL it says G-22 (I have a Glock 19). Does that not matter?

A Glock 19 with a "CGL" was made September 1997.
