NC - Woman Shoots Would-Be Intruder

A Fayetteville woman shot and wounded one of two teens who tried to break into her home off Baywood Road on Sunday, authorities said Wednesday.

The woman, who was alone at the home on the 300 block of Grape Arbor Drive, told investigators she was napping when she heard glass breaking at 2:20 p.m., said Debbie Tanna, spokeswoman for the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.

The woman grabbed a shotgun, walked into the kitchen and saw a man's hand reaching though the broken window, trying to unlock it, Tanna said. The woman yelled that she had a gun, but the man continued to try to get inside the house....
