The Second Natick Meetup of 2019 is ON and @minininjer is expected to be in the house, on loan from the State of Virginia.

We'll gather at B&K Sales starting around ~6PM and get to the restaurant at 7:15PM. If you choose to meet us at the restaurant, STILL let me know for head count purposes and ask for "The NES Group".

Framingham, MA - John Harvard's Brewery & Ale House

Bring cash or credit card to pay at the restaurant if you join us for dinner and drinks (we do separate checks).

If you'll be joining us at John Harvard’s Brewery & Ale House but not B&K, please let me know (by posting in this thread before 6:00PM or email me at [email protected]) so we can give the restaurant a proper head-count and we can all sit together.

NOTE: John Harvard’s Brewery & Ale House is in the left rear corner (from Rte. 9) of Shopper's World and to the left of AC Moore and DSW Shoes and to the right of Ulta.

If you know of anyone that would like to come and might not hear of it otherwise, let them know. They or you will need to relay the count to me.

Attendees (in case anyone is trying to avoid someone that will be in attendance)

I've managed to pick up an evil strep throat in the middle of summer, wtf? If I'm not suffering from mumps, mono, or some other malady that shouldn't be in fashion just now, I'll be in.
(Easy in the BL thread, you know who you are.......)

(most of the above plagiarized from Len's past invites, so any misspellings or clumsy turns of phrase are his fault)

And he wants to blame me for his incompetence!!

It will be Thu Aug 15, no matter what Pipes tells you. I promise :) R u coming!?!?!
It's been too long since I've seen you, but unfortunately I can't make it that day, Cindy.

I'll be away visiting "my" Cindy who, as you know, also lives a few hundred miles to the south... and is Chinese... and shoots guns.

I'll wave to you as we cross paths going in opposite directions.

Can you point me to this list of functions that are only open to paid members? I'm a paid member.
Wiseass!

- The NES Shoots
- IIRC the BBQ/get-together in the Spencer area yrs ago
- Pretty sure that most of the previous get-togethers were only announced in the Paid Members part of the forum.

I'm sure that there have been others, but that's what instantly comes to mind.

Stating the obvious
- The NES Shoots
Two to three a year, ending last year
- IIRC the BBQ/get-together in the Spencer area yrs ago
That was six years ago

I believe since 2012 there have been more Natick get-togethers than all others combined. I don't see how that's "almost all"

Although I agree with promoting membership purchases, I believe it's a bit disingenuous telling people that there are a bunch of members only events, when that's simply not true.

Thank you for waiting through the numerous Len S Natick Get-Togethers to bring this up under a Namedpipes event.

Comedy gold.

Point taken. There are a lot more events that take place that are organized through PM's,. word of mouth, that get their start from meeting NES'ers at shoots. You won't get to meet these people if you don't go to the GTG, Shoots, or even Rallies or Legislative Hearings. That is where people who can get out, do. I have been waylaid for a while and know I have missed seeing other Green Members who support NES.

Man I wish I had a Mai Tai. [cheers]

When I first started running the Natick get-togethers, it really was the only thing I remember that was open to non-paid members. I do not recall if those that ran it before me posted it in the open or in the Members only sub-forum, too long ago.

Since I tried to run it monthly, yes there have been more of them than anything else. Perhaps if Namedpipes only runs it once/twice a year we can even it out over the next 10 years or so.

"around" and "~" are redundant.

Signed, the wiseass
I'll blame everything in the current and July posts on Namedpipes!

I knew that there was a reason everyone hates lawyers!

When I first started running the Natick get-togethers,
Was that back when Natick was set apart for Waban?

In 1651 by order of the Massachusetts General Court, Natick was established as the first praying Indian village/town. The place was set apart for Waban and the Praying Indians so that Waban’s Massachusett people could worship in peace unmolested by the colonists and the surrounding disagreeable Native tribes

I knew that there was a reason everyone hates lawyers!
There are many, many, reasons..
