"They started fighting, and all I noticed was a knife out," Marengo said. "A guy started getting stabbed. I got out of my car and took my handgun out. As soon as they saw that I pulled my gun out, the guy, the stabber, started running behind Wendy's."....

In MA, can we draw down on someone like in this case if we can just drive off? I would feel like a complete asssclown driving away.

In MA just GTF out of there.

You might feel like a complete assclown but to stay out of trouble you need to retreat first. It sucks but a MA DA will make it suck a lot more for you.

scanned over the article, not something I'd get involved in MA or not I think. The recent D.C. poker, sure.

If it was MA
Arrested
Guns confiscated
LTC revoked FOREVER
charged with assault
likely convicted because self defense does not apply, he was not part of the altercation

NH
a favorable news interview
a pat on the back by the locals
I wish this was a parody post, but it's right on. I live in NH, work in MA. Carry every day, but the level of FR that would have to go down for me to consider whippin' out makes carrying nearly pointless. :p

Another reason why I moved to NH.

Do you have any idea how much lower the violent crime rate in Nashua is compared to pretty much any other city in the country?

Vs national big dump cities, sure, but its probably hovering somewhere around the MA small dump city rate. I'm sure places like Worcester are 100x worse.

Police said two groups started fighting at about 10:30 p.m. outside a McDonald's on East Hollis Street.
Police said they believe the stabbing to be an isolated incident between two groups of people known to each other.
Stay classy, Nashua.
My comment was less about the stabbing per se, more about the circumstances (10:30 PM, between Wendy's and MickeyD's).

Ive spent probably more than 50% of my life in Lowell or Nashua.
Nashua has always been far safer in my opinion.
I owned a multi-fam in the middle of the Mannchester ghetto, and its still better than lowell.
I think Nashua is similar in population size to Lawrence. Huge difference.
Nasua land wise is at least the size of lowell and lawrence, so the wackos that are there are more spread out, probably helps.
