Name this assault rifle

I saw a special on the discovery channel a few years back. The episode was on the history and impact of the AK-47 I believe. they were talking about the assault rifle that was designed to be its sucessor.
its was unique in that the entire barrel would slide back and forth within the frame of the rifle absorbing the recoil. This was supposed to have made it one of the most accurate asssault rifles manufactured.
can someone tell me what the hell the name of this thing is so i can stop driving myself crazy trying to remeber !

I think your thinking of the AK-101

The HK G11 did that too. When shot in 3 round burst it was designed to have the third bullet leave the barrell before the shooter felt the recoil of the first.
