I picked this up at a yard sale a couple of weeks ago. Anyone know what it will fit? No markings that i can see.

bolt action, big magwell, barrel cutout dimentions look too big for 22LR to me. No markings on buttplate?

Looks to be remington 700 replacement wooden
This is based upon the cut-out in the bottom of the stock itself.

Magwell opening is way too big for a .22 (I think).

I would guess something popular like a Remington 700 or Winchester 70, etc.

Here is a web site that has some dimensions for popular rifles, maybe you can figure it out using this. If you measure the mounting screw distance and it matches one of these, you're on the right track I would guess:

Hope that helps.

Interesting.... The mag well measures about 3.5" long and there are cutouts on either side. I'd assume the magazine was removable. The trigger guard/base plate extended past the mag well to the front bolt hole and behind the trigger hole.

Based on the link above, I'm thinking Remington 700 BDL short action. The trigger guard measures 6.5" hole to hole.
