I love history. I'm not an expert but I know a bit and enjoy it. Stuff like this goes to show you humanity is it's own worse enemy. How much farther would we be and how much more of our history would we know if this hadn't happened, or the library in Egypt burned by the Romans, the other books etc. burned by the Catholic Church for anything deemed heretical etc. I hadn't heard of this library nor it's burning before, but 9 million books and manuscripts going back at least 2100 years from the Giupta period(which ended in 543). Had to screenshot, they block copying and their source code from being viewed lol
The destruction of Nalanda in 1193 resulted in the demise of ancient Indian scientific thought in Mathematics, Astronomy, Alchemy, and Anatomy.
