N.J. Assembly approves 22 gun-control bills

Honestly WTF does "banning online sales of weapons" even mean? Do these people seriously think that you can buy an AR15 and have it shipped to your house? You can pay for it online, but you still need to go through the background check etc. in person at the dealer.

Yes, I know, that's not the real point of the bills... I just can't help trying to step through the illogic of it all. Disgusting.

the 'gun free zones AROUND schools' is going to be the one to watch.

I think "and allow police to seize weapons from people when mental health professionals determine they pose a threat" is pretty dangerous, too. IMO, the only time seizure for that sort of thing can ever be sanctioned is when it has been adjudicated in a competent court of law. Everybody has a right to due process, no matter how crazy you may be.

This already exists in Ma, with a 209a. All you have to do is claim that you think someone is dangerous and get a 209a issued....poof..no more guns....and no more kids, if it's a spouse who complains.

You don't even need a 'professional' to make the determination of dangerousness, just the word of a pissed off person to the ear of a judge who has no more idea of what's happening than what the complaintant says.

Part of me is sad and part of me is glad. The part where more online ammo and gear will be available to me by way of decreased demand makes me glad.

NJ sucks.

Nothing to be glad about. We have to stop the 'it sucks to be you' attitude when it comes to gun rights: first they came for full-auto, I didn't say anything since I didn't own any, then they came for SBR and suppressors, I didn't say anything because I didn't own any, then they came for NJ citizens but I didn't say anything because I didn't live in NJ...

If we don't turn the tide, the tide is going to swallow us all.

They know nothing about the current laws. That is why when they make up this shit they look like fools in the face of knowledgeable people!

Look at Bloomdick. he says you can walk into any gun show and buy a fully auto machine gun. When you tell a lie long enough people believe it!

It was on Law and Order SUV last night, so it must be true! The bad guy bought his gun on the Internet and Georgia doesn't have gun registration and the pretend cops had to do pretend police work.

Don't ask why I was watching that show, I was a guest and had no control over the TV remote.

If (when) these bills pass the NJ Senate, I have no doubt that the fat RINO Chris Christie will sign them with a flourish. Thus ending his hopes of ever being President.

My son and DIL moved from NJ to Alabama last year. My son already has his CWP and guns. My DIL went shooting with us the other day and really, really, liked my S&W Model 18. She was even asking me about concealed carry. Pretty good for a young women who grew up in New Jersey.

I think the only way they'd move back to NJ is at gun point.

IMHO, I really think that we are going to pick a few states in the northeast to stand our ground. There isn't enough of us up here to fight in every state.

The Commissioner of the Boston Police has said the same thing on tv a number of times. He said most of the illegal guns that they confiscate in Boston were purchased over the internet from out of state.

Where's a head-exploding smiley when you need it? Eugh.

You do realize you could only escort them at gunpoint to the NJ border and then make them step over into Jersey?

Which either means that he's FOS or that people are violating federal and state laws to buy guns. Imagine that, people who commit crimes committing a crime to buy a gun so that they can commit more crimes. Who'd a thunk that criminals don't obey laws?

I'd like to ask Big Ed how he knows that they are buying guns over the Internet. Do they have copies of receipts or tracking numbers? Somehow I doubt that criminals are giving receipts these days.

Many people know that is the case with a 209A and they pull them just to hurt the other person. I know of several people that has happened to. The decks are stacked against us. This is why I say "yes dear when she wants to watch Odities"

I don't wish ill on patriotic New Jersey residents, who want to exercise their 2A rights, but a part of me really wants Christie to sign these bills. I want that fat RINO to sink his 2016 campaign before it even gets started.

I will simply ask again how long are we going to allow elected officials to dishonor their oath of office? They work for us. They are supposed to answer to us. They have corrupted the system from top to bottom and as a result all in government are ignoring their oath. This is what people should be marching on the state house about. As long as this is allowed to continue these discussions are an effort in futility. Want to kill a weed it must be done systemically, you need to kill it at the root. If these a-holes adhered to their oath none of this BS could happen.

Ya. Try living in Fall River. We have over 100 schools in a city that is about 18sq mi. The school zones extend 1000ft beyond the border of the school grounds and parking lots. So everywhere in fall river is in a school zone unless you go in to the state forest.
