now that I got your attention, I'm sorry to disappoint you that this is in fact not a thread about trannies and money shots.

No, it appears the transmission in my 2015 Jeep 6 spd is leaking fluid. There's a seam basically in the middle of the tranny that is seeping. I'm assuming it's probably just a cheap gasket, but wondering if anyone has any idea what kind of repair bill I'm looking at...I'm assuming labor is going to ass rape me if the whole tranny has to come out.

Let me guess - Wrangler?

indeed.

It's paid off. I'm selling it. it must go.

A year ago I was in for over 1K for tie rods and ball joints, now this. I like it, but it's a f***ing piece of shit. 2015 with only 47K miles on it.

Paid off, and Carvana tells me I can get $28K. so as soon as I get my MA title converted to a CA title, it's f***ing gonezo as Carvana tells me they don't like when a reg and title don't match...f***ing gay.....

Tempted to find a way to band-aid it and let it be Carvana's problem, but not sure I want to f*** over the next owner like that....

Sounds like the rear main seal...
that's what I thought initially, but wouldn't that be engine oil leaking?

I thought tranny fluid was usually red, but this is yellow. I thought it was oil on my finger at first but on a paper towel it's kind of a bright yellow. I compared it to the color of oil from the dip stick and it's definitely not the same color.

Mechanic on my phone said there is bright yellow transmission fluid out there but it's usually red.....

IDK,,,,I'm bracing myself for a minimum of $1000 bill here, but kind of scared it's going to be a lot more.

Bob nailed your first step. Now get under that Tranny and torque on it... [rofl2]

You said ass rape and tranny in the same sentence [rofl][rofl][rofl]

I think your going to find that is seam where the case splits. It probably isn't a gasket pre se...it's going to be RTV. You'd have to pull the unit and split it to make the repair properly. I dunno...maybe if you drained completely so there was absolutely no leakage and cleaned the surface really really good you might be able slather some RTV on from the outside and tried to shove it into the crack a little , and let it cure before refilling you might buy some time...but I doubt it.
This isn't the same trans.....but close enough so's you get the idea.

Do you know if there is dye in your AC system , depending where the condensation/evaporator drain is ?
Could be coolant also.
Need a picture

Brake fluid has a yellow look? Hydraulic slave cylinder leaking.
Gear oil is pretty thick and smells, some gear oils are bright gold looking
