It either is or it isn't.....I immensely dislike the more probable than not logic.

Many times in my career I was bitten in the ass over the 10% error possibilities.

Yes, there are exceptions, like many other things in the English language. But it should help to remember that chief is not spelled cheif. Same for friend, not freind.
