You do know that just the maintenance on that car is $100k [shocked]
If I only knew the maitnence on my Subaru before I bought it... $800ish for a front end brake job not including rotars. awesome!

True...but if you can afford $2.5 million on a car, I think a $100K maintenance bill is the last of your worries.
Last month at Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas a guy won the bid at $700k on a 2008 Veyron, but said "I was only kidding" when it was time to pay up!
Needless to say, Barrett-Jackson wasn't happy!

[rofl][rofl][rofl]

If I had 2.5M lying around, F the car.

I'd be styling in this:

And still have 1M left over.

As awesome as the Veyron is, I could buy three supercars AND a bunch of guns and ammo AND replace the home theater AND still have enough left over to pay off my mortgage for that money.

The people buying Veyrons don't care about maintenance costs, already have large yachts, a vacation house or 10, a wife with bolt ons and mistresses with bolt ons *and* Lamborghinis and don't live in Fitchburg.

What the christ!?!? What year and why aren't you doing it yourself?! You'd save a boatload to do it yourself, it is extremely easy. I did all new pads and rotors on all fours of my WRX and it was half that money

Did they at least give you a date rape drug first?

IIRC, you have an STI which complicates matters a little due to the Brembos, but it's still quite easy.

In the Top Gear episode about that car they said that the guy who owns it figured out it was cheaper to have the car shipped to track and he flies in his private jet than it is to just drive the few hundred KMs!

I did my brembos. If you can detail strip a [grenade] you can do your brembos. You need an hex wrench, a hammer, and pliers.

I'll show you how if you want. Seriously.
How do you push the pistons back into the caliper? The brakes on my car are dual piston so I use a c-clamp and the old pad.

Sure, next time I do the pads we should meet up.

You know how to do rotars? they have 73,000 miles on them and are going to need to be replaced soon apparently.

As long as I'm showed how to do it I'm fine, but if i just decided to do it without a clue, which is how I am now, I would mess it up!

The basic concept of getting a rotor off is easy. It just pushes on and the studs go through the holes. It's held on by the wheel and then lug nuts. The issue is that they often rust on and can be a PITA to get off in some cases. Subarus usually have a threaded hole on the hub section of the rotor that lets you thread in a bolt to push the rotor off. Having a hand sledge and some penetrating oil can help also.

Oh, you also have to take the caliper bracket off also.

Dude, that makes no sense at all. Front pads are around $80. An entire new caliper is only $250. And there is no way they were replacing the calipers. There must be other stuff on that sheet.

As for the Veyron, the day could come when you could buy one for half a case of 5.56x45.
