My new long-range Dan Wesson hand cannon....

Sent my 10" barrel out to be professionally polished (Patriot Gun Polishing a veteran owned company with top notch service) and it came out awesome! Really slick how it shows through the silhouette cuts. The other reason I had it polished was due to the significant tooling marks from the lathe/CNC at DW. It was a PITA to clean and would catch all the fibers from my cleaning rags etc. Bob at DW said he could polish it for me but I figured I’d get it mirror polished instead....

Happy Friday!

Found a Primary Arms red dot kicking around and decided to mount it on the Dan after removing the scope. Should be fun for plinking inside 25 yards especially with my 44 powder puff loads. Curious how it will hold up to magnum loads though [laugh]

But it was collecting dust anyway so I guess I don’t care if it breaks....

Wow that's gorgeous Andrew!! You should do an over/under poll on how many full power rounds before that red dot goes flying
[laugh] That’s not a bad idea!
Though with my reputation around here, I’m sure @dhuze and @daekken would guesstimate it cracks and/or goes flying after the first shot[rofl]

Well I shot about 100 rounds of magnum and light powder puff loads today and so far so good.

Scored some old but brand new Millett clamp on scope rings from an online auction. They clamp right onto the rib of the barrel shroud.
Super hard to find and rare.

Anyway, mounted them on my DW 357 6" but my scope is a wee bit long lol. I might have to get the 8" barrel assembly. Haven’t had a chance to shoot it yet but it just seems like a bad idea for the scope to protrude beyond the muzzle...thoughts?

Though slapping on a bushnell 1x red dot would fit it well.

Reminds me of those barrel clamps crosman sold for thier pellet guns. i would be hard pressed to mount clamp style scope rings in that area. I see slippage and damage in the future. .....do like the barrel polish job. Have fun keeping it clean!

These are made for 357 only I would never try using these with 44 magnum. I definitely run the risk of marring the rib with a clamp but I think it will stay put with 357. I’m just too cheap to buy another set up like the 44 mag in my original post of this thread. That was over $700 - I can’t do that again. Was a present to myself for getting a new job...
