Ok...

As some of you may have seen in the "Ammo Day" post. I went into Four Seasons on Saturday with the intent of buying a bunch of ammo. Well, I did end up buying a bunch of ammo, but not as much as I originally wanted to. I didn't buy as much as I wanted to, because I saw a police trade-in gun that you don't see for sale here in MA. I put a Kahr K40 on lay-away. I only put it on lay-away because I have a special bank account that I keep and put a little bit of money out of each check into that account. I like to call that my slush fund.

I usually reserve my slush fund for fun things. The money is calculated before bills, and after savings and investments and such. So as far as I am concerned the money is "Fun Money". I almost exclusively use the money for guns, and trees (you may remember from other posts that I am heavily into the art of bonsai) and there is usually enough of a balance in the account to buy whatever I would want on a whim without interfering in the budget.

So, when I saw the gun (one that I have admired for a while but not able to purchase in the Commiewealth of Massachusetts) I played with it, fondled it, and fell in love. So, I had to have it. Now to keep me out of trouble with my slush fund, I actually have to go into the bank to make withdrawals so I didn't have any of the "Fun Money" on me at the time. I made a deposit on the gun out of my regular account to hold it, knowing damn well that I wouldn't see on in MA for a long time. When I did that, I said to myself that I would come back in sometime after Thanksgiving to pick it up.

I have been looking at pictures of it online for the past couple of days, and am now VERY excited to have it. So, now I ask you my friends, can you think of any reason that I should put it off until after Thanksgiving, or should I just go in after work on Wednesday and pick this beauty up?

WOW!
Now that I read that, I have ramble on and on just to demonstrate that I am of course none other than a bonifide
GUN NUT

Thanks for listening
Adam <-- Gun Nut and PROUD of it!

With apologies to Tim Curry, "Anticip....(Say it!)...ation!" is highly over-rated. Or at least, it is when waiting for guns.
If you can, do it.

Ok...
I went and picked it up after work last night. Got it home and started to disassemble it. All I can say is WOW! Other than some wear on the outside of the barrel this gun is PERFECT! I took the gun down to almost nothing so I could do a thorough cleaning and inspection. There isn't even any visible wear on the slide/frame rails. A couple of passes with a bore brush and patches and the bore was shining like a mirror. I sprayed down the frame with gun scrubber (not that it was necessary because it was so clean) so I could get off all the dust and such. I couldn't even see any wear on the internal parts either. I disassembled the striker assembly, couldn't even see any visible indicators that the gun had ever even been fired. No powder residue inside the breach face, or built up ANYWHERE. I lubed it up good, put it back together, cycled it a few times and I swear you can still hear that slight zing zing sound/feel that you get when you cycle a brand new firearm.

I disassembled that magazines to thoroughly clean and inspect... The mag that came with it (it came with 2, I think one was an afterthought by Carl) and the spring inside was still shining. No powder residue AT ALL!. I still cleaned and lubed up the mag, and reassembled it. Loaded it with some FMJ ammo to make sure the follower compressed correctly. It felt like the spring was still brand new.

WOW! I can't wait to get this to the range!

Very nice! :) That sounds like it was great find.

Enjoy :) :)

A big difference from the used KM9 I looked at a few weeks ago. It looked pretty heavily used and abused.

Must be the same one I looked at at Four Seasons. Not only was it abused looking and priced at $600 but it looked like someone dipped the entire thing into oil.

Sounds great, now for the range report. [lol] [lol]

Yeah... I don't know if I will be able to get to the range for a few days.. Maybe tomorrow morning I could take her in before the "Eat Fest" begins!

Either way, I will try to post some Kahr porn tonight!

And of course a real porn one with ammo, and mags.
Please note: I have not had this gun to the range yet so I did NOT chamber a round, only inserted a mag into a locked slide.

I love Gun-porn!

hheheh and I'm glad I'm not the only one who uses that term.

I have a folder that is nothing but pictures of Desert Eagles (Mostly Screen Captures from DVDs) and people call it my Porn Folder. 8)
