I'm actually considering building a 408 Chey Tac on a 1917 Enfield action I have. I've always wanted something different, and I consider this a "Poor Man's 50 BMG Rifle". It also would be PRK legal, and has a flatter trajectory than the 50 BMG. Dies are expensive, and ammo would be as well, even if I make it.

Way more gun than I need.

The late, very much lamented magazine Tactical Shooter did several articles on it.

Hmmnn. Overall length of 4.42 in and case length of 3.04 in.

Is this thing even going to fit in an Enfield action?

Regards
John

It's based on the 505 Gibbs and they fit. Probably be a single shot only proposition, but then, I've had a Rem 722 (Short Action) in 300 Weatherby before. Had to take the bolt out to remove a loaded round.
