I've been away from here for a while.

I decided to build a Glock from a Frame.

I bought a full Size Glock Frame:

Then I had it and some magazine duracoated in Tango Down FDE:

Afterward, I got a G22 slide and magazine.

I replaced all of the internals with some I bought from LoneWolf, ie trigger, trigger housing, extended slide catch etc...:

I put in the G22 trigger housing and a have 2 barrels. A threaded 40S&W barrel, and a threaded 9mm conversion barrel:

Sorry for the crap pictures, they were taken with my phone.

I was thinking about doing something similar with my G34 (9mm), but convert it to .40S&W and use it in USPSA Limited. I know I would have to replace the slide (and slide parts) in addition to the barrel to go from 9mm to .40S&W. However, I am not sure about whether I can use the same ejector. Glock lists two different model numbers for .40S&W and 9mm, but I don't know how different they are and if it's necessary to replace it and I don't want any detonations while unloading. I want to be able to change the caliber quickly by just swapping the tops and don't want to deal with swapping out the trigger housing to get a different ejector. Do you change the trigger housing when swapping calibers?

The ejectors are different. That is why I swapped mine for the g22. Also lone wolf makes a g22 9mm conversion barrel.
The trigger housing is less than $15. So all you need is the housing and the two barrel.
You do not need two full slides.
The 9mm ejector is bent in while the 40 is straight. Lw sell the conversion barrel non-threaded and black as well depending on what look you are going for.
I got all my stuff for a great price through a local business.
You can covert 9-40.using a 40 slide and a 40 trigger housing.
You can't use the 9mm slide with the 40 barrel as it won't fit. The hole where the barrel goes is too small . The 40.slide/barrel works fine with 40 and the lw barrel has a larger od 9mm to fit the 40 slide. The lw barrel also sits at an angle so that the 9mm bullet fires and ejects with that trigger housing.
I would get the 40 slide and sell the 9mm slide assy and buy the conversion barrel and trigger housing.
That limits you to only having to change the barrels. Otherwise with two slides, you will be constantly changing the trigger housing and that is way more involved than just the barrel.
In the end it's up to you what you feel is the appropriate amount of work you want to do to swap calibers and what fits your budget.

Are you saying it's OK to use the .40S&W ejector for the 9mm?

I was saying it is ok for one to use a 9mm conversion barrel with the g22 trigger housing.
I do not know much anything about the g34, but I believe the frame is the same on the 17,22,34,35.
If so, I would use the G22 parts for this. As the 17/34 trigger housing would not work for anything but 9mm.
So I would suggest a G22 trigger housing and G22 slide.
I am using this housing:

And for 9mm this barrel:
http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=971&CAT=241
Do not use this:
http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=1024&CAT=163
as it will only work with 9mm.
The first link is a direct swap, and because it is straight and not angled, you will need the conversion barrel.
The 9mm magazines that you have will work fine with that setup.
Do not use a 9mm standard barrel either, as one, the bullet will not feed correctly and two, it will not have the larger OD needed for the G22 slide.

The only problem for me would be that I would still want to shoot USPSA Production in 9mm, and I cannot do that with a g22 slide and a 9mm conversion barrel. I would have liked to use it in USPSA Limited in .40S&W and that would not be a problem since you allowed to do more mods in the Limited division. I don't really want to deal with swapping the trigger housing to swap calibers, and I was hoping that I could just swap the top end so I didn't have to buy another custom trigger.
Thanks for the post though, it got me thinking :)
