How did he manage to do that? I had to beat the piss out of the charging handle back and forth till I finally got it to drop out. The rear pin was so tight I could barely get it to move with a punch and was worried about damaging the pins or lower as it came undone.

And he had the balls to complain about some of the powder coat coming off when I finally freed up the round.

bolt catches round on the way back, round jumps up and gets stuck above bolt.
crappy mag, or shooter rests rifle at the plastic mag and pushes down well.

Radical. I have the exact same gun. Zero issues. He probably had a failure to feed and f***ed around with it way too much.

Good possibility. Brass was already screwed up when I got there. Probably user error followed by 7 more user errors. This is from a guy who did 4 years in the Army to boot.

Widened feed lips are nearly the only possible way from what I've ever seen. What mag did he have?

very odd as picture shows different color and finish like top rail was bolted to some crap below with a hell of a gap.
radical upper has no gaps and has same matte finish, so, odd.

what came with in. no-name brand steel mag. I told him to get some Magpul 10/30's but he is cheap as shit.

The steel mags can temporarily be bend back a little narrower. Not anything to trust your life to but as a shit range mag

No, I charged it a couple times with a loaded mag and it picked up and flung rounds fine.

Yeah it's from the shock of the recoil and likely won't duplicate from cycling

No gap on it, like I said, just the angle. You are seeing that milling mark at the top.
