Fiona, our blind elderly Pug dog, died in her sleep this morning, She had been on the way out for a while, but still had her appetite.
We adopted her from a shelter 6 years ago when she was age 5ish.
    She was a good dog.

Awww, God bless the little snort.

    My prayers go out.

I have a soft spot for pugs, my parents have a fawn who will be 3 in December, he's the sweetest little thing.

My wife gets a laugh at me, I'm a truck driving, hunting, fishing gun owner, but I turn to mush around the little guy.

We refer to him as "The Snort" or simply "Snort" because pugs always seem to snort...

    Here he is with smiling.

Sorry for your loss, Thanks for adopting a shelter pet and giving her six years of love, comfort, and companionship.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

    +1000 on Rainbow Bridge,

We are huge GSD people and have always had that very special member of our family. As they became old and they passed along the way. Rainbow Bridge always provided comfort to us that we would see them again some day.

Our condolences, on the loss of a significant member of your family.

    Best wishes,
    Scott

Sorry man. I have a pug (portly to say the least). They have big personalities, and I understand that it would be an even bigger loss. I like fat larry more than I like the majority of people I've met, can't imagine losing the little guy. Sincere condolences from another pug owner.

    Sorry for your loss.

A dog's capacity for love, their unwavering friendship, and their innocence makes their loss crushing. I hope you and your family move on with great memories, and offer another dog in need the same great life as soon as the time is right.
