I'm going to have my SIG556 threaded and put a brake on it. I honestly have no idea what would be a good brake to choose, having never needed to do this before.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Miculek works well for me.

Works great but it's going to irritate the hell out of anyone shooting on either side of you.

EDIT

I just replaced mine with a brake that looks like an A2 flash hider. I do notice some recoil reduction - not as much as the Miculek style that was on there before but more than nothing and it's much less disruptive of things on either side of me. The Miculek style brake would actually blow stuff off of benches to my left and right when I shot.

Why not support a local guy and NES member?

The one at the top right almost looks like the flaming pig, nice, I'll be in touch for my new build.

He also has an adjustable one that he showed me at the GOAL shoot. [STRIKE]Four[/STRIKE] Three different settings so you can dial in the compensation effect depending on the load, etc...

To be clear I don't work for him or have any business relationship with him whatsoever. I just think he's a good guy with quality products.

you really need baffles for comps to work. not just holes. The gases need something to slam against then be redirected for the comp to be effective

Thanks for the recommendations guys. Things have been crazy here and I haven't even had a chance to review the thread til tonight.

I'm still vacillating between a brake and a plain ole flash hider.
