Mugabe reported dead

Wow, president since 1987, prime minister since 1980. he must be a hard working honest guy to have won so many elections!

[rofl]

Good. Was in Zimbabwe in December. Beautiful country with some of the nicest people I've ever met. They deserved better than him.

murderous socialist. Rhodesia was the breadbasket of Africa until that self-serving bastard took power. someone should have taken him out a long time ago.
A South African once told me that when it was Rhodesia, people would go there to visit the Zimbabwe Ruins (http://www.greatzimbabweruins.com/), but once the country became Zimbabwe people would go there to see the Rhodesian Ruins.

Many people forget that Jimmy Carter helped to bring him to power.
At the time we needed the titanium to help with aerospace and defense manufacturing.

Update:

No he's not dead, that was fake news, but he is finally being removed from power:

Zimbabwe's ruling party sacks Robert Mugabe as leader

Zimbabwe's ruling party has sacked Robert Mugabe as its leader, as pressure intensifies for him to step down as president.
Zanu-PF has also given Mr Mugabe, 93, until 10:00 GMT on Monday to resign as president, or face impeachment.
He is currently addressing the nation, after meeting military leaders who have called on him to step down.
The military intervened last week, in an apparent attempt to block him from installing his wife as his successor.
The first lady, Grace Mugabe, and several other senior officials have been expelled from the party altogether.

And GHWB put Saaadam in power. Sometimes you can't see the problem you create later. Especially if it's a choice between a warlord that will murder thousands and do business with you versus a warlord that will murder thousands and NOT do business with you.

Bye Bobby Gabe.

GHWB did not put Saddam Hussein, he failed to remove Saddam from power after kicking him out of Kuwait.

My bad. I'm not sure how I got that link in my head. LOL It was something Cheney/Rumsfeld/Schwartzkopf. Gotta be the Shah. I'll have to go back and look.

During the Reagan/Bush term, the US position on Hussein changed as we lost Iran. We supported a megalomaniac that at one point was in the top-5 nations receiving aid from the US. All to weaken Iran and keep oil flowing.

But the reality is is that R administrations and R operatives helped put into or keep in power plenty of dictators throughout the world. It isn't an easy choice sometimes. And you've got a 50/50 chance of it blowing up in your face some day.

THAT said, I think Carter is a tool. Albeit a better tool than Obama was. (Carter realized his mistakes and admitted them. Obama just kept telling the lies. Sorta like a Hitler.)
