I've modified this thread since i've gone from MP5 build questions to doing the actual build. I have begun the long expensive process of getting all the parts together. I'll do my best to document the full build from start to finish and i'll post a parts list once everything is purchased.

For now some pics of parts [smile]

Well I would build it as an SBR so i'd need to get the tax stamp first and i'd get the receiver marked with the proper HK markings as well. MP5's did have the option of semi-auto trigger packs so technically I guess it would be an semi-auto MP5 clone not a HK94 clone since it never had a 16" barrel.

I did get more info on the build process and it looks like it takes over $3k to build one of these right so I think this project will be on hold for a while :)

HK's are no easy task....if you're serious, try corresponding with Azex and/or ORF. They may have some pointers for you...

The MP5 builds really arent tough, just expensive. Be prepared to wait a long time for it also! Last I knew most GOOD builders were booked 6-8 months. The cost of parts, building and finishing the firearm are usually around $3000-$4000 depending on configuration. I have two of them, both built from US receivers and all German parts as pistols (to get around the 922R) and then converted to SBR on a Form 1. One of them is out getting converted to an SD as we speak.

More parts came in. Almost have everything to get the build started!
