I bought this in Nov 2014. Have been out of shooting the last few years and this has been a Safe Queen. Lost all my firearm records and notes when my laptop crashed. Any info on this would be appreciated and maybe what they are worth in 2020 for my insurance. Thanks

I can't provide a direct answer but what I do is go on gunbroker.com and search for similar guns.

Will show you the range of prices. Just be aware of those listed with all the same S/Ns vs. mixed and non-matching scope. If I were to guess, you should be in the $400-500 range, but that is merely a guess.

Are the KO rifles the ones purposely built from surplus rifles and reproduction scopes?
Any how what you paid plus 15% ?

Thanks guys. I paid a lot more than the $400 -$500 range :(
I may be wrong but IIRC the snipers had serial number along the side of the chamber, yours are X’d out? Would that indicate it was removed from sniper service . KO or MOLOT was/is like the CMP of russia . They sold original rifles and put together them from parts also.
I would go over to gun boards they have a pretty deep following of informed collectors

Edit. The markings should include a "CH" on the barrel to designate a sniper. I don't see that so I will say my initial opinion is suspect. Who is marked as the importer?

That is a genuine scope and a genuine sniper IMO. The mount is serialized to the rifle as it should be. Does the scope have a box with a line through it? That's the typical refurb mark for a scope. I don't see it. Your rifle had a prior scope, as evidenced by the x'd out numbers on the side of the barrel. It's sitting in an older stock than it should have as issued.

Considering the scope appears to not have been refurbished and the mount is matched to the scope and the scope to the rifle is why I think it is genuine. The progress scope is the most common variant but that one has not been refurbed which is uncommon iirc. It looks like yours is the variant with the aluminum eyepiece.

Scope info. PU sniper scopes. 1940-1945

I also don't see a boxed mark on the barrel indicating a refurb. If you pull back the bolt is anywhere along the inside of the area the bolt rides in NOT blued? Sorry for the bad description. Is the area is blued it is a refurb. Some areas in the white means not reblued.

The magazine floorplate has a Restamped serial number. Basing that on the grinding marks and ghost numbers that remain. The bolt has been restamped based upon the differences in font from the barrel markings. Shows a refurb just not what I would expect for a stock on a refurb plus not refurb marks on the rifle that's I can see.

I second going to the sniper subforum on gunboards and posting pics there. They have a heck of a lot of knowledge about these Mosins. I have not know a little bit about these rifles and that was from quite a few years ago.

I could find no box markings anywhere on the scope or the barrel.
