Nice hiring practices there, Lunenburg....

Lunenburg cop placed on administrative leave for domestic A&B – Sentinel and Enterprise

Anyone from NoCentMa would be "shocked, but not shocked." They probably only cared if he was willing to write C90 citations
constantly, given that's about 75% of what they do there... (because nothing else happens there, generally) speeding tickets most of which are issued on a chunk of land about a mile long between two cities, and on 2A...

-Mike

I'm always mind blown when I read about cops with a prior criminal history making it to the force. I'm guessing the hiring practices must be pretty loose over there.

It’s a form of crowd control. Totally legal
Indeed. She was getting the bum's rush not the least because the cops
don't want to find out the hard way that she's got friends in the crowd.

I shoulda looked for any disposition stories in the first place:

Miami Herald, 4-Dec'17: She struck a cop, he punched her, and now she has to write him a letter of apology

Note well that in contrast to the media initially being told that
Miami-Dade PD was shocked, shocked (para unquote) by the video,
it actually didn't rise to the level of an Internal Affairs investigation.
From the 14 seconds that went viral, I can't blame them.

Hell, the media story line is that she truly was the cause of the fight in the stands.
But I feel sorry for responding cops who have to defuse the situation
in such a chaotic environment - hopefully by busting the correct parties.

No idea if she started the fight, but based on the first 10 seconds of the clip (on silent) my apology would read something like:

Dear Officer Friendly, I'm sorry you're such a woosie you can't take a slap like a man (and go downhill from there)

Full disclosure, for all I know she's the reason the cops showed up in the first place. She may have agitated the entire situation.

"Guilty" or not**, she seems like the kind of lady that would be highly entertaining to date.

** Video was fuzzy

She was sauced, fighting other fans there, etc.

fans and police said Freitas was cursing and swinging at people in Section 129 at Hard Rock Stadium.

Police were called. As she fought them by holding onto a railing on the steps, four officers hoisted her onto their shoulders. The video shows a clearly inebriated Freitas with her feet and arms free and swinging wildly. At one point she reaches out to slap Ross and misses. But her hand connects with him on the way back, striking his left eye.
Looks like the guy actually got hit in the eye/face... I don't care who anyone is, but if you strike someone there and expect them not to do something
about it, "you dreamin".... cop, or not, some hate is probably going to get transmitted back in response.

She was there with friends. Grown adults who can use their grown adult option at any time.. She was shmammered and clearly beyond uncooperative. Optics look like sheit but she was the aggressor. In a situation like that did you expect kind words and a lollipop?

Hey good idea let's swing at the giant angry cop carrying my drunk behind to the paddy wagon.

I've got no problem with him popping her back in that circumstance. Boos trying to get her out and de-escalate, she throws a drunk back hand to the face and gets a proportional response.

Here we go again.

One grain of wheat on the first square on the chessboard.
Two grains of wheat on the second square.
Soon you're talking, like, a whole loaf or something.

Fort Worth police officials claim they found a firearm inside the residence
but did not say where the gun was found
or whether the officer had seen it before he shot.

Let NESers who reside in a First World <Bleep>hole state remember:

Gun Laws in Texas: Firearms possession
Texas has no laws regarding possession of any firearm regardless of age; all existing restrictions in State law mirror Federal law except for the prohibition of zip guns.

Gun laws in the United States by state: Texas
State permit required to purchase? No
Firearm registration? No
Owner license required? No
Assault weapon law? No
Magazine capacity restriction? No

If you assume a grain of wheat is about 8mm^3 (2mm/side, ish) that last square has 147,573,952,589 cubic meters of grain.

I watched the animated Jif (heh). How many times does someone get to try to hit me before I get to react? Asking for a friend?

That's a combination of two separate issues colliding. First issue, cops shooting someone in back of head at wrong address. Second issue illegal immigration.

There is no easy response to that as both parties are breaking the law. The government is then forced to address the third party (family) who I assume is also illegal. they would correctly have no recourse as a foreign invader has no constitutional rights.
As much as I agree, immigration law has been considered an administrative violation for so long, we have effectively changed it from a true crime to essentially a civil citation. Saying someone is 'illegal' in a realistic legal sense is the same as saying you littered. We have started using the fact that they are using social security numbers against them. It takes some more work, but it's the only way the 'they' will consider it a crime and treat it accordingly.

Three.

Nah bro. Honestly, I've already forgotten the video. It just struck me (no pun intended) as a little off, the manner they brought her out. Besides, some guys would pay for that kind of treatment from a gal.

Without seeing the whole thing, I'm guessing she wasn't cooperating from the get go.

Yeah, she's obviously doing it wrong with the whole slapping a guy around thing.
