Not stopping for a traffic stop and evading police is not a grave danger to the public?

The only liberalism here is the outright defense to the criminal element that cares nothing about anyone else.

I see traffic stops on a regular basis that directly puts the safety of every person on the road at risk and broadly speaking police dont give a shit.......

Throw into the mix a stop at night and popo is using a volume and intensity of lights that blinds traffic coming up behind as well as oncoming traffic..

Blame is probably on both popo and the policy/procedure wonks sitting behind desks but any way you slice it police create safety hazards every day that far far exceed the alleged "benefit" of enforcing minor traffic infractions

This morning I narrowly avoided getting into a high speed multi car wreck thanks to one of these cops pulling people ovet for going slightly over the speed limit. It was on Route 2 and I could see the cop half a mile away with lights flashing so I did the usual move into left lane and gradually slow down. Meanwhile, an idiot is riding my bumper and making hand gestures, then the person in front of me decides they need to lock up the brakes just before reaching the cops. I normally had enough distance to stop in a situation like that, except fhr the idiot on my bumper, but I had no choice and had to slam brakes too. Idiot behind me realized he couldn't stop so he jerked the wheel hard just in time to go into the right lane and end up to my right, and he well could have lost control and gone into the cop and pulled over cars. Hey idiots.... "slow down move over" law doesn't mean slow down to 10mph in a 55mph zone when no one is blocking any lane!

Slow down and move over is stupid wrt handing out tickets. Cops should stop pulling people over in places there isn't enough room on the shoulder. If you play in traffic PSGWSP.

The answer to your question is no. It definately is not a danger to the public.

I hope dad, mom, aunt, uncle, neighbor - SOMEBODY - finds Officer Vickers and returns a 'qualified' 10-fold proper response.

The whole qualified immunity shtick is going to blow up in law enforcements face one day and it's going to be very very ugly. It just can't keep going the way it's going with cops shooting innocent people and their pets while sitting in their own homes doing nothing illegal.

I agree. Soon the leo will be in the wrong neighborhood, a caucasian one, and shoot the wrong innocent bystander. Hell will be to pay. It's okay as long as it is their innocents getting shot.

If these situations keep pushing and pushing the public reaction is going to be vicious. I'm pretty sure that our legislators know all about this but there isn't a single one anywhere that will do a damn thing because they also want to enjoy the same immunity. Lawmakers attempt to handle criminal justice reform by just painting the window frames a new color. No real problems are addressed. So it will end up being in the hands of the public and the only way to stop it will be in the jury room and on the street. The proof beyond all reasonable doubt will get tossed out the window and 'he might have done it and that's good enough' will be the bar for a conviction. Also it's very likely that juries will refuse to convict cop killers because 'that guy defended the public from a vicious killer'. There is a very real danger in the direction we are headed and it's not a good place.

The jury can’t make any decisions when no case is brought.

The jury can’t make a good, informed decision when the prosecution puts on a crap case.

When the jury does decide, it won’t matter with appellate court rulings like above.

Of course, I’m done with the legal system. I have no respect for it or any of the players.

This is the first I’m hearing of this. Needless to say my outrage
meter is pegged. I don’t know what has to happen for this kind
of behavior to stop. I think anybody in a position of authority should
have to go through an intense psychological evaluation. Possibly no one under
the height of 5’7", no one that shaves their head, no one that’s a Navy
seal wannabe? I’ve seen and read so many of these stories and
everyone of them is either a bad cop or a rent a cop wannabe.

On the one hand, I can't imagine the stress of each and every day showing up, spending the day trying to keep people from doing things that will ruin their lives and all the while knowing almost every person they encounter is at BEST not appreciating the interaction. It must be an incredible strain.

At the same time, though, that's the JOB. It sucks, but so do most of ours. Except for the DJ at a strip club, maybe.

That's just the Cliffs Notes version. If you really want to put your blood pressure meds to the test, go read his multiple chapters about the entire thing, especially their illegal entry of Scott's apartment (to obtain a throw-down gun), and the farce of a coroner's inquest.

He didn't even know it happened. He thought all his injuries were from the wreck, until his lawyer got the dash cam footage.

Six cops beating on an unconscious body. But don’t worry, most cops are good, you can take my word for it.
