To which I say, good, more women buying guns to protect themselves and their families(don't care what color they are) much to Piers' dismay(poor little bitch-boy) meme is just because we know libs don't really like black people, they're just using them

There is an increase in the number of Black women buying guns for protection, and more are learning to shoot at area gun ranges. So what's driving this increased interest in becoming armed?

Shaquawna Langhorne purchased her first firearm last week. She thought about being a gun owner for years but said recent cases of unjust killings of Black people at the hands of police, like Breonna Taylor and George Floyd, prompted her to take action.

"I don't feel protected by those put in place to protect me, so I wanted to protect myself," said Langhorne.

Langhorne bought the gun from Mychael Waller, of MJ's Firearms in Richton Park, a certified firearms dealer and instructor.

According to Waller, Langhorne has joined the ranks of an increasing number of Black women who choose to arm themselves.

Waller said he finds more African Americans are embracing the Second Amendment.

"I feel like that is my job as a firearms dealer to let them know you do have these rights," said Waller.

And that education is what Chanel Tillman advocates.

Tillman, a certified firearms trainer, is with the Jacksonville, Fla., chapter of the Black Gun Owners Association. She owns a Smith & Wesson firearm and has been a member for three years.

"I feel a whole lot better knowing that if someone were to come into my home, that I am able to defend myself," said Tillman.

Experts say protecting yourself is empowering, but strongly advise that you use a weapon only if you learn how to safely handle a firearm.

Could be the biggest gun sales year in America History? Cool. I'm going to do my part to help this weekend [smile]

Yeah, I want to get a Benelli SuperNova Tac but I know a lot of places haven't had any shotguns in stock with the stuff that's been happening

we are gonna be hearing about shaquawna squaring off with the police soon no doubt. and why am i reading quotes from piers morgan? i thought he left the building a few years ago?

Nah, she still tries to stay relevant and sticks her nose in where it shouldn't be(and FIFY)

"Shaquawna". Really. What is it with a lot of Black (note capital B) names? Do they just pull this s%%% out of their a%%es?

Good for Shaquawna Langhorne and others like her. Next step is when they realize that donks are not their friends.

Haha that shit made me laugh, you are not getting one. I asked about one a few months ago just out of curiosity with my dealer. He said there were 50 on order in the system.

I said great.

Then he said that was for the ENTIRE country.

I have a Mossberg 590A1 SPX that has been "on order" since March. Still no definitive date for when it will get to my FFL.

There is some momentum there, just need to figure out how to keep ot going...all we need is about 15% of the black vote to hold the Dem voting fraud at bay...

I have a friend who's an African American woman, and i'm damn happy she's armed.

Personally, if anyone else i knew shared her job duties (regardless of race), i'd feel better if they were armed as well. She manages a large business in a city in Mass that has a fairly high crime rate, and makes bank runs multiple times per day, and has to carry a large bag that has "XYZ Bank" logo on it to and from her vehicle.

Even if she didn't have that particular job, i'd have zero issue with her owning any type of firearm, and the same goes for anyone who wants to purchase a firearm, and has the ability to handle it safely at all times.

everyones name was pulled out of an ass at one point in history.

Shaquawna origin is African. Another source of black names is the French influence in the South. Antwan for example.

no different when someone names their kid an Irish name no one can spell or pronounce.

“this is my son Erchhhhheeetrinisfal... it means island warrior in Gaelic”

Why would anyone carry a large bag of money in a bag that is marked with a bank's logo?

COMPLETE FAIL!!!!

If anyone votes for a liberal politician they are not "embracing the Second Amendment." Having said that I don't know how these women are voting, hopefully they vote for people who support their right to bear arms.

she is required to put the money in a particular bag for deposit after hours in the drop box. Also probably has to write the exact amount on the outside if the bag as well.

Obvious trolling is obvious, but I will respond.
Even Names.org doesn't understand that name What Does The Name Shaquawna Mean?
It has no origin except LOOK AT ME! And is not derived from ANY language, except I WANT TO BE DIFFERENT.

Irish names usually have an origin, abnd derived from another language, hence "it means island warrior in Gaelic".

When you think about it, people are individuals so why make your kid be the billionth guy named Steve? I get it that people have run out of good ideas a long time ago and are now making up ridiculous crap just for the sake of being different, but the concept is sound imo.

I think BCN did a thing way back in the day (that wouldve gotten the stations license revoked today) where there was a hotline to call to get suggestions for a new babys name. So someone calls in an obvious black womans voice with suggestions like Noxema, Queezy, Laundrette, etc. Woman on the other end of the line is all uncomfortable and like "Umm...that sounds...nice. But..." [laugh]

Is there some sort of corporate policy against putting it in a larger unmarked bag?

I did night deposit escort duty on occasion, but it was not exactly mean streets type of work. I worked in a restaurant in a shopping mall and sometimes had to walk with the night manager to the night drop at a bank in the mall. No, I was not there to provide backup for the manager - corporate policy required a second witness to prove that the deposit made it to the drop, or to back up any claim the manager may make about being held up on the 50 yard or so walk inside a locked and closed mall.

Corporate policy was "25% of your employees will steal and it is you job to catch them; 50% will steal if they think they can get away with it so let them know you are watching them; and 25% are honest. To this day, I cringe when I see businesses allow employees to access more than one register when on duty.

Not trolling, I'm poking fun at the human nature of naming babies ... a made up Irish name is the same as a made up African name. At one point it didn't exist, then it does with some declared meaning. Shaquana (and male form Shaquan) means "truth in life" as declared by someone 100s of years ago ... based on it's regional popularity this was probably in Africa or the Carribean.

But Shaquawna means literally nothing. Shaquana does. See the problem?
