MO - Homeowner Shoots 1 Of 2 Intruders

A homeowner who heard a window break discovered two burglars inside and shot one of them in his Clayton home early Sunday, police said.

Two teenagers and a juvenile were later arrested in the burglary after a short chase.

The homeowner, a 58-year-old man, shot Terrance Henderson, 17, in his right arm about 12:15 a.m. Sunday as Henderson and Jake Richardson, 18, were coming up the main staircase of the home, said Clayton Chief Tom Byrne.

Byrne would not identify the homeowner. Byrne said he will not be charged with shooting Henderson because he was within his rights to defend his property.
