Mitch McConnell Ignores National Reciprocity for 44 Consecutive Weeks

That would be funny. And then the GOP would be the party for Dreamers. (And that is a good idea. The party that gets behind REAL immigration reform is the one that will continue grow in the future.) Which would set about 60% of NES over the edge. [rofl]

they must be really busy with some other bullshit or vacations ... may be we need a Jira project plan seeing how productive these congresscriters are and what priorities are and how they spend their time. Is it too much to ask from these "public self-servants"

Now almost a year...

Mitch McConnell Has Ignored National Reciprocity Legislation for Nearly One Year - Breitbart

National reciprocity was introduced in the Senate on March 1, 2017, and we have now hit the 48 week mark but McConnell is still looking the other way.

The shame of this lies in the fact that national reciprocity for concealed carry represents the single greatest pro-gun opportunity since the ratification of the Second Amendment in 1791. It accomplishes this by removing the cumbersome patchwork of laws that currently prevent the common man from traveling with a handgun by his side for defense of his own life and the lives of his family members.

I still don't understand why this isn't being tacked onto something important like dreamers or something and then rammed through the senate. Put Elizabeth Warren in the uncomfortable position of voting against it or saying yes to the dreamers and reciprocity.

While that would be nice, tacking things onto things is what has been sticking it to us lately.

An idea or law should stand on its own merit. If not, then amend it or tough crap.

Every law should be voted on singularly.

Gonna be a blurb on this on 60 Minutes this weekend, IIRC. Hahahahahahahahaha. FB is blowing up over it. "Oh mah gahhh!! If legal people have guns in mah state, I'll die. Only criminals should be able to do that!"

My thoughts on national reciprocity is that Pols don't want it because they will loose control of the sheepeople. Especially in non gun friendly States like Ma. If you are fortunate enough to own a second home in a free state you could become a full time resident of that state apply for a CCW permit and carry in a not so free state even if you work and live in your original home state. Any other thoughts?

Leaders of the special class already unencumbered by restrictions on concealed carry across state lines weigh in on the little people getting concealed carry reciprocity.
Pittsburgh chief joins opposition to concealed carry gun law expansion
PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Police Chief Scott Schubert joined 472 police officials from around the country in urging Congress not to pass legislation the group says would undermine states' concealed-carry laws.
“This legislation is a dangerous encroachment on individual state efforts to protect public safety, and it would effectively nullify duly enacted state laws and hamper law enforcement efforts to prevent gun violence,” the International Association of Chiefs of Police wrote in a Thursday letter to congressional leaders.
The law enforcement officers said that with the change, they “could not confirm whether an individual is carrying a weapon legally or creating a risk to public safety.”

No, f*** outta here with that national database shit!

This. This is just one of a hundred reasons NR is a f***ing bad idea.

If you want to have carry everywhere and have the Feds lead the way, get them to repeal every gun law and then enforce the actual meaning of 2A via federal penalties and mandatory jail time against any government official who violates 2A.
