Minimum Age?

Such a simple question, but Ive never needed to know before...

What is the minimum age to own a rifle? I am thinking to buy a .22 as an 18th birthday gift for my youngest brother.

that said i have no idea how old you have to be to own in ct, but its not over 18 so i think you should be fine. IANAL

18 is fine..there is no permit or any kind of requirement like that for a long gun..

There is technically no "legal" age to own a long gun in CT. If a long gun is purchased from an FFL holder the person has to be 18.
