Firearms never make it under the tree however got a couple of winners this year:

"Pistols of Germany" by Jan Still
The new "M1 Garand" by Bruce Canfield

They were on my wish list. However the family could not figure out why Still's tiny book cost twice as much as Canfield's big book.

Anyone else score big?

I have funds enough to get my first matching K98k; results forthcoming.

Update:

I found a matching 147 (Sauer) from 1939 without breaking the bank. Half payment sent.

I received this in 2001 for Christmas. It is a '44 SA Danish return, original barrel. It looks like it was refurbed before being sent to Denmark and sent back unused. I spent all day Christmas at my in-laws cleaning the cosmoline out of and off of it. Great day.
