Mihos lays out stance on guns, helmets

Yup you guys are right it is so much harder to throw up your hands and resign to the fact that we are all screwed no matter what we do. I am so glad that the founders of this country simply gave up on writing a constitution.

Wait I have an idea lets go to the candidates web sites and let them know that every vote counts and they had better rethink any negative thoughts on their second admendment axing. If every member of this forum did that then maybe one of them will get the hint.

If you don't buy a ticket then you Shirley (j/k) can't win.

[rolleyes] maybe i'm too new here... but there was an attempt at humor there.

I would never tell anyone to not vote... in fact... just the opposite... I always plan to vote and vote often [wink]

Fact remains... that there is no sure canidate for all your rights/beliefs/whatever.

We know where Mihos stands, but the fact is... as an independant... he really as a very slim to none chance at getting in.

We sort of may have an idea on Healy's stance, but with no real voting record... it's still a risk...

We also know that the Dems in the race will do whatever they can to kill our 2nd ammend rights... yet the only one in favor of the wind farms is a dem and has no public stance on firearms....

So again... just a general statment to attempt to lighten the topic a bit.

So vote early and vote often[smile]

Mod Hat On!

I kindly request that we keep this thread on track about MIHOS ONLY.

Create another thread about Patrick, another about Healey, etc.

That way it is easier for any of us to find info on a particular person with Search or by the title.

Thanks.

[thinking] my fault... sry [smile]

Actually, my fault. I DID, however, do a search for "Deval Patrick" (without the quote marks) and this was one of the ones which came back. There wasn't one on just him or one on the governor race. I guess someone needs to start one, may as well be a moderator to make it a "sticky" one at the top of the politics forum (IS there a politics forum?)

Perhaps you need some practice using the ADVANCED SEARCH function?

Here's the results using that tool and it comes up in mere seconds:

Democratic candidates for Governor
http://northeastshooters.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=4513

Deval Patrick is taking questions....
http://northeastshooters.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=8010

Deval Patrick
http://northeastshooters.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=6916

Our Next Governor? [Actually about Reilly]
http://northeastshooters.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=3650

And this is NOT all of them.

Please continue discussion on any of these people in the appropriate thread (above or use search feature yourself to find it).

I may have used within the last month or 2 weeks or something like that.

Huh? Can I have a translation into English here please?

If you mean that you want to start a new thread on the same topic since the "old one" is more than a few weeks since anyone responded to it . . . NO GO! That's a violation of good decorum. Same topic, same thread! Them's the rules here. No reason (other than laziness) not to resurrect an old thread when the topic is the same.

No one here is advocating giving up. What I, and others, are advocating is that we realistically look at the situation and base our decision making on that honest look at the situation. Here's how I view it:

1) Mihos is not going to win, no way, no how. He doesn't have an organization, he doesn't have the name recognition, and he doesn't have any charisma. He'll get 15% tops.
2) The three democrats running for governor are all major gun grabbers.
3) Healey won't be great, but she will be better than the any of the democrats.
4) Mihos' major appeal will be to independents and those right of center, so his votes come out of Healey's hide.
5) If Mihos does well, Healey loses and the democrats win. And then we're screwed.

I'm not advocating that we give up. Not at all. I'm advocating that we do everything we can to support Healey. She's the best alternative that we have, IMHO. Mihos is not a viable alternative.

Hardly laziness when it is more effort to put in the time restriction. I figured it is just more current information.

Figure as you will, it violates the rules here. Multiple posts on same topic will be consolidated by Mods. Folks that refuse to follow rules will be dealt with if and when necessary.
