Midway has a sale on AR-15 Stoner uppers selling at $300 (normally $400). Out of 183 reviews, 15 were 3 stars or less with a few complaints about badly staked gas keys. Anyone familiar with the quality of Stoner products because even at $400, I would have some concerns about quality. Yes, I now that it needs to be massified.

Ordered one and returned it. Fit and finish was just cheap. Went with and upper from http://karrisguns.com and couldn't be happier. Much better quality uppers then the stoners.

Thanks, guess I'll pass.

For a very low budget upper, I have two of these sitting on my shelf.

I have not built them out and shot them yet, but the quality seems good for the price. Finish on the BCG is good, staking is good, and they come with empty casings that were supposedly test fired through them.

I'll look into these, but like everything else, you generally get what you pay for,

Absolutely. If I was putting together my first AR, I probably wouldn't go with them. They were more of a 'rainy day' purchase for me, in case I need to build ARs #7 and 8 to arm a couple more neighbors, or if supply were to completely disappear due to some govt BS. I should slap one on a lower one of these days and run a bunch of mags through it, just to see how they hold up.
