I picked up a large ring Mauser Action to rebuild a Gewehr 98. Went I got the action I found there had been to much done to it to work without spend a lot more money to get older parts. So I held onto it. I was at a small local gun shop and there was a sporter stock there. Some one had started to work on it, it still needed work. I was able to pick it up for $25.00. I went with a 30-06 barrel. I have the vise and wrench and the Go/No-Go, Field gauges. I decide to leave it in the white and used Clear Alumihide from Brownell's to paint it so it won't rust. I also painted a Scope I had and put on a grind to fit recoil pad. I did the stock with Tung Oil and Johnson's Paste Wax. I think it came out pretty good.
