Maura and MSP?

Ah, Troop E.

Back in the late 70's, I had a bad accident on the Pike, resulting in my car being towed away. The next day, I went to the tow yard to get my stuff out of it. My tools, the radio, and the shifter were all missing. The guy at the desk said "Hey, they probably fell out at the side of the road." I was pissed. Wondering the best path, I called my uncle (recently retired MSP Lieutenant) and asked him what he would suggest. He told me to go to the Troop E barracks (on the Pike in Natick), ask for Lt. So-and-so (the local commander), and tell him what happened.

Nest day, I walked in, and asked the desk officer for the Lt. by name. He asked what I wanted to see him about, and when I explained, he said "Oh, Tommy (the owner of the tow company) wouldn't do that" and made a call over. Mirabile dictu, "Tommy" said there was a misunderstanding, that they had removed those items for safe keeping, and all I had to do was stop by and ask for him.

Scumbags, the lot of them. They should have pulled all their pensions and jailed them by the carload, instead of just whacking a minority of them in the overtime case.
My BIL got his car cleaned out by the tow company .
Once he explained that there were items in the briefcase they swiped valued high enough to get into felony territory and he was headed to the PD to file a report, they suddenly "Found" it. Scumbags

🍿, Fake news… If he fights it he’ll win. At the cost of everything he owns

It's also wrong. The Sturbridge barracks has no responsibility over the Mass Pike. That duty gets split between Weston, Charlton, Westfield, and the Barracks assigned to the Tunnel. Previously, it was Troop E's turf -- Sturbridge is Troop C. F Troop, of course, is at Logan.
I think you are wrong. I have seen the Surtbridge MSP patrolling as far as LEE, MA.

Don't forget, those gantries that collect the tolls, also constantly look out for expired inspection stickers, out of date registrations, warrants, etc. They are like no-warrant surveillance systems that peer into every single car going under them.

1984 is most certainly here.

It was in the passenger compartment and he declared it to the officer immediately as he was pulled over. Ignorance of our BS laws.
1. Police are not your friends.
2. Keep your mouth shut.
3. Be polite.
4. Have nothing visible in the car that might attract unwanted cop attention.
5. Before driving, walk around your vehicle. Look for missing plates, decals, lights out or anything else that might precipitate a traffic stop.

I don't believe it's legal to have a loaded rifle in the passenger compartment of the vehicle in either of those states.
Considering how crime is exploding, maybe that needs to change. The cop who taught my class is a sheriff in Colorado, and his troopers now wear AR15s along with pistols when they exit the patrol car.

amazes me how much trouble people get themselves in by not following these basic rules. I'm not the best at maintaining vehicles but if you can remain inconspicuous you usually wont get pulled over. After that dont leave evidence all over your seats, be polite to the police but dont answer questions that havent been asked. Regardless of whether its a friendly conversation or not, anything you say can be used against you. If you know you're doing something wrong then shut up and dont answer questions at all

How is that different than the data the RMV already has regarding registration and inspection status? The old toll gantries had cameras too.

Nope.

They don't use EZPass facilities for that kind of stuff outside of maybe trying to find an amber alert car or something or some other exigent, high profile, active criminal investigation. (like someone is going to die, etc) Nor do they do speed enforcement with it either, even though it would be trivially easy. Despite the BS that tinfoilers have been pushing about that for like 20 years now. That stuff is from the "My sister got a $500 covid fine on the maine turnpike for driving during covid lockdown BECUZ EZPASS!!!!" hysteria department, AKA, lets make up fake stories and distribute them to see how many people will suck for it and believe it... [rofl]

Don't get me wrong I am well aware of the invasion of privacy of things like LPR/ALPR pose, and I think there should be laws that strictly regulate the use..... NH had some stiff laws about that, although im not sure if some f***faces repealed it or not. (basically, NH law had made ALPR illegal unless it was used for toll collection or some very very limited scope of LE purposes. ). But inventing fear porn to rile people up is retarded. Then when the person finds out its fake news then they dismiss the danger/overarching message, which does a disservice in terms of trying to raise awareness to privacy issues.

you're right, If this was a true I would have racked up thousands in expired reg and inspection stickers by now
