Massachusetts. Gun laws

Licensing may actually get mildly better. Any hopes for major change in our favor will have to come from litigation, not legislation, however.

^^This.
I don't see that the legislature has any interest in doing anything beyond being able to say that they were responsive post-Sand Hook AND that they 'fixed' something for gun owners whose rank they know are growing. The fact of the matter is, with the exception of a few die-hard towns, most everyone in MA who isn't already prohibited (another issue) gets an unrestricted LTC. We have it much better in most respects than any other may-issue state.

Keep fighting and be active. Never give up.
And this as well. It is paying off. Some legislatures are paying more attention.

I don't think it will be replaced. Eventually it will simply be forgotten. Give it time.

It won't be forgotten. They will change the meaning of the words until it means whatever our overlords deem it to mean.

Eventually you will have a country ruled by a group of genocidal socialists who call themselves The Constitution Party and their stated goal will be to restore the country to the state intended by the founding fathers.

Yup. Over 90% of the LTCs issued in MA are unrestricted LTC-A's. The issuance issues MA residents face -

- Towns that restrict (the "Brookline effect")
- Lack of due process for rejection or revocation ("suitability")
- Refusal to process applications in a timely manner

We have it much better in most respects than any other may-issue state.

The possible exception is CT. While it is "may issue", the fact that "need" may not be used as a filter makes it a "shall issue" state in practice.

Another good thing about MA is the VERY short list of prohibited by statute areas (schools, the water within 500ft of Logan, Logan (via CMR)). Most states with "shall issue" laws have a laundry list of places where the permit is not valid because of concerns about "ordinary" people carrying in such locations (restaurants with alcohol licenses, police stations, sports venues, public assemblies, etc.....)

From my perspective here in CT, the further away from the murders in Newtown that we get, the better the chances are that MA won't emulate what we've had to endure here. We were at ground zero and once the bottle was opened, the genie was not being but back in. MA didn't respond like our ignorant legislators did. They waited maybe because there wasn't a bill sitting in a desk in MA waiting for a catastrophe to happen where it could be enacted upon. Here there was. So, there hasn't been a groundswell in MA and maybe you'll escape any new encumbrances to your already tough regs. Good for you! It's rare when I can say I'm jealous of MA anymore.

...Several thousand in lawyers fees later, the leftist judge sided with the Chief, so he still lost.

Lets say he spent several thousand and won the case. How is THAT justice? The freedom to spend your savings to have a chance at preserving rights you possess innately? Justice would be that Chief was found guilty of treason, executed following due process and full restitution made to plaintiff.

There would be no second instance of infringement.

And yes, treason. What greater crime against your country than betraying the Constitution?

But the plaintiff often loses these cases In Mass.
I personally know someone who got a Class A with a T&H restriction in Watertown.
He wanted ALP but got denied, so he sued the CLEO.

If the new fed case by Comm2a is won, it should help that issue.

My dad's last ALP experience is proof of that. He got b rammed six years ago because he hadnt taken a pistol course. Even though he had his pistol permit in the same town for over 40 years. He goes to renew last year and was expecting a B again but got an A.

He asked why and the CLEO said " departments are getting sued over this stuff now, our official position is to give everyone A ALP to avoid that".

Legislation does work, that is why GOAL can blowhard all they want about laws, ill still be a member. but im spending my real money on Comm2a they are the teeth and really where the dollars should be put to use

Agreed, but it's a catch-22 because you are spending your money on both ends of the fight. It's ironic that your tax dollars should be used to defend the government from a lawsuit you bring against them for violating your rights.
