Here they go again....

There is a proposal in the MA Legislature to require people who own guns to take out a $250,000 insurance policy for EACH GUN OWNED, and will be imprisoned if they don't. It also limits the number of gun purchases per year, and requires people to show proof of insurance for each firearm at time of LTC renewal. Call, write and email your state rep letting them know how you feel about this. Here is a link to the proposal: http://www.mass.gov/legis/bills/house/ht02/ht02125.htm

Already wrote to my representative. He said that the bill, while it came out of committee, does not have support in the legislature. It will go back to committee.

There seem to be certain number of consistent gun freaks in the legislature who have proposals out there to talk about, but they don't have the support of the legislature.

" It will go back to committee. "

I can think of more appropriate places it should go, along with its sponsors, but this is a polite forum. :D

Being sent back to committee is a death-knell!

This is SOP in legislation.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't this so-called bill been introduced on another thread; and, wasn't it Chris who suggested we worry ourselves about it when GOAL tells us to?

Mike,

You are right and it also gets filed every legislative session.

This conversation is closed as superfluous. Look for other thread on same topic if you really, really need to beat this dead horse (no offense Nickle [lol] ).
