SAFETY
Eye and ear protection are mandatory on the firing line and are the responsibility of each entrant.
Eye protection is especially important because of steel targets and potential splatter returning to shooters and spectators alike.
A safe area will created where shooters will place their firearms during the match. Actions or cylinders will be open to show they are unloaded. No firearms will be handled or loaded until the Range Officer tells the shooter to report to the firing line.
Upon completion of a round the Range Officer will visually inspect each firearm to ensure it is clear (magazine/cylinder ejected and chamber clear). Shooters will return the firearm to the safe area unloaded with actions open.
Accidental discharges– shooter will be asked to cease fire and at the discretion of the Range Officer may be asked to leave the firing line.
Muzzle discipline – Allowing the muzzle of a firearm to break the 180 degree safety plane is not allowed on the firing line for any reason. If this occurs the shooter will be asked to cease fire and at the discretion of the Range Officer may be asked to leave the firing line.
