Some Martian grabbed it for his kid and is making a remote control for it as we speak.

Ya'll remember this, when some alien monster named, "O-nitty" shows up, to wipe us out!

At 11:53pm it became self aware and severed communications with earth.

    Or maybe it was aliens?

As long as it doesn't return to earth calling itself Vger, we should be okay.

    RIP rover.

How was it costing 500000 a month to send it a wake up command?

Salary for the team working on it, computer time, broadcast antenna time, opportunity cost for projects not worked on etc

This shows that sometimes NASA does indeed get it right. Fantastic engineering here.

Coverup. It was totaled by a Chinese rover. Some people just can't drive.

It wasn't, they would never tell you the real cost, you're just the stupid taxpayer! They have to justify those big budgets somehow.

Just over 28 miles traveled on Mars. Not bad for a little guy on a 90 day mission that lasted almost 15 years. Got a good photo of all of us too.

All 8 billion of us on that tiny dot in the middle of nowhere. We are infinitesimally small.
