Marlin Is Now Playing The Rebate Game

If they were still making a 1894 chambered in .357 I w/b all over this - until then I will continue to browse for a lever action that takes 38 spl/357 mag priced below a grand

How is Marlin's quality overall? I bought one of their .22 rifles and was not at all impressed. Just wondering if they do it any better on their products that cost more than $200. [smile]

hmmmm, i could USE a .44 lever action in SS....[grin]

I just happened to see one for sale a few days ago at Shawsheen Firearms in Billerica, they had a Rossi R92 with a 16" barrel. I have one of these myself and it works flawlessly, and this one had much nicer wood than the one I own.

I bought my 336 a couple years ago and i love it.

Over the years, I've acquired three Marlins...a Model 25 bolt action rifle, .22LR, that I bought in 1972 brand new and after tens of thousands of rounds through it still shoots like a laser.

I also have a model .336 30-30 that I bought used in 1984. I think it was made in 1979...It is still my go to deer rifle.

I have a Marlin Model 90 O/U 12g shotgun made in the mid 1950's that I still use when hunting bird and small game. I bought it at an auction in 1979 for $60...built like a tank.

All of these firearms have always performed flawlessly over the years I've used them.

What was done to it ???

It looks like it was bead blasted

Yup. Bead blasted. Full action job. Peep sight replaces the safety.

He could have taken a little more of the edge off the loading gate, but that is nit picking. Feeds every .38 and .357 I have fed it so far which is Blazer Win White Box and some assorted Federal loads. Also a few Corbon and Speer hollow points.

It is more explaining to my wife why there is suddenly 2000 rounds of ammo that is different from everything else.

I think she got her carry permit just so she could have access to the safe to count what is in there.

I have an 1895 just like the one pictured on the Form. I love it.

A few years ago I saw an 1895GS in a store that was almost all semi auto tactical stuff, you could see it had been marked down three times and was down to $300. I still kick myself for not grabbing it.
