Have a very nice walnut stock off of a factory marlin manufactured rifle. It was off an 1895sbl (special order) 45-70. It has a few very minor blems. There is a rub mark (not in the wood, its topical) near the sling mount on the rear with a small chip in the plastic spacer between the rubber pad and the wood. The forend has three small dings that dont appear to have made it through the clear coat. All in all a really nice stock for a marlin that needs a little love.
