Jose, I'm glad you figured out what is good and bad with PTSD. Maybe you can help me.
I've been in treatment for over 8 years now, and alchohol and drugs are referred to as "self treatment" by the Docs at the VA. Most people with PTSD don't even know they have it, and refuse to believe it when confronted by friends and family.
If it wasn't for the PTSD, they wouldn't be going AWOL for the most part, but the anxiety, and reminders of their trauma induced disability are more than some people can deal with.
Instead of saying "Your Bad"...it might be better if the Armed Services, particularly the VA, offered mental health treatment for these men and women, without having to run the gauntlet of beurocratic paperwork and hoop jumping that they require now. And give treatment to anyone who hasn't had a dishonorable discharge.
I know far more people with PTSD who AREN'T getting the help they need, than ones who are. It's a sad situation.
