2 more in midcoast area

there's also the

Knox County Fish & Game in Hope.
off of Rt 235.
outdoor 100 yard range.

and

Lincoln County Rifle Club in Damariscotta.
it's on business rt 1.
don't know what they have, as I've only passed by it at a high rate of speed while going to Miles Memorial Hospital [shock]

Thanks scragglepoint, I've added those to the full list. That's a great area you've got your business in, my wife and I have spent a few nice weekends at the Craignair Inn.

Hope that hospital trip was not too serious!

Clark Island

If you stayed at the CraigNair, then you're about 1/2 mile from where I live.
I'm on scraggle Point Road which is the 2nd left off Clark Island Road when your heading to the inn.

I'm on the local Fire/EMS service so tend to spend a lot of time in the back of an ambulance.

the picture in my banner is wheeler's bay, and the building and dock you see is Millers Lobster, I look down the water towards Millers.

Penobscot Longrifles in Stetson, Maine (Bangor area)

There is also a National Muzzle loading Rifle Association muzzle loading club in Stetson called "The Penobscot Longrifles."

It's about 10-15 minutes SW of Bangor.

They shoot the last Sunday of each month. Contact Bob Frappier in Stetson, Maine for info (don't have his number).

Covered line. 25. 50, 100 yd range. Mostly M/L rifles, but they will shoot shotgun (blackpowder/pyrodex only) or pistol if you can talk a few other shooters into it for the day.

They also hold "Wood walks" on the grounds, which is a practical "shoot from the possibles bag" type of competion. They shoot through out the winter, so give them a try.

Hi Folks,

I grew up in East Wilton Maine -- Walker Hill -- and was a member of the Wilton Fish and Game Club as a kid. Unfortunately, the "Wilton" listed by cdkayak is for "Wilton, WI", not "Wilton, ME"

I thought it looked different...

The Monmouth Fish and Game listing is incorrect. The outdoor range is 50 yard pistol , 100 yards rifle . (I know , I'm a member) . It IS a private non profit club , but it's only $35 a year(to become a member) for unlimited range use . Also unrestricted to caliber and can use NFA items (excluding explosive components) . Have a toy with the fun switch? No problem as long as you have paperwork in hand while at the range .

Thanks for the corrections. Most of it was copied & pasted from multiple sources so it's bound to have some errors.

I'll see what contact info I can get for the Lincoln County Rifle Club. I was a member there awhile back, but let it lapse for awhile. (It just occurred to me that I was making some flying trips past there in ambulances in those days, too. The last time I shot there was on the indoor .22 range, with a guest who was also an EMT.)
I stopped in one afternoon last year when I saw the gate open, and the guy who was on the outdoor range turned out to be a classmate from my EMT-B and EMT-I classes. He gave me some names of people to call.
This was a good reminder to get in touch with those guys.

I'll also see what I can find out for the Lincoln County Fish & Game Club (Depot St., Waldoboro) and the Wiscasset Rod & Gun Club (off Rt. 27/Gardiner Rd.).

Hi, just came on board. Will be staying in Bar Harbor for a few weeks next month. Any suggestions appreciated: pistol ranges, gun shops, places to eat, not necessarilly in that order.
Thanks'

Western Maine Fish & Game Club, Harrison, Maine www.westernmainefishandgame.com We offer trap shooting on Sunday mornings at 9:00am year round. We have a 100 yard rifle range, hand guns are permitted on rifle range. We are trying to establish an Archery range on the premises. Public invited to trap shooting, membership required for access all other times.

Anyone have any info on the Windham / Gorham Rod & Gun Club?

Knew some memebers years ago but even though I'm a whole 5-10 minutes from thier clubhouse, I've never been there. Belong to Falmouth. Try checking with some local shops (expect Howell's) for contact info or even the NRA.

I stopped down to the Falmouth club yesterday. There wasn't anyone around. It's like $200 - $250 for fees right? Do they have day passes so one can check it out?

What's the "sponsor" thing? I have to know a member to get it in?

Anyone a member of the Scarborough Fish adn Game Assoc? Looking for an indoor range close the Kennebunks. Information on how to join would be appreciated

Information about membership for the Falmouth Rod & Gun Club can be found at http://www.frandg.org/

Annual dues are $125 with a $75 new member fee. Trap is shot every Sunday at 10am pretty much year round, and Wednesday at 5pm in the summer. Social meetings are held the 2nd Monday at 6:30pm of each month and business meetings the 3rd Monday of each month.

If you don't know anyone at the club come shoot some trap or to a social meeting and introduce yourself to find a sponsor.

We are always looking for new active members. And, aside from our trap field, we have a rifle range 100/200 yrd and two pistol ranges and a new archery course. Also, Cowboy, Action Pistol, Steel Challenge, Falling Plate, Silhouette check the website and feel free to come to any open practice or event as well.

The Sanford range has 2 of the 3 areas enclosed and have wood stoves inside. Plus they plow there range up to 100 yards. Thats at the airport range. Plus a few years back we bought a range in Berwick. Theres more then 1 in the berwick area. Our berwick range has 200 yard range and 2 seperate pistol ranges and trap/skeet set up and theres aarchery range. If you join 1 you belong to both. I believe the berwick range is not plowed tho.

Where about is the range in Berwick? I have been to the one in Sanford at the airport twice for a 60 shoot with the Shipyard PD. I liked what I saw.

My membership to North Berwick is up this week and I am not happy with that club and don't want to renew. What does Sanford charge for a year? I have tried finding information on the web, but I dont see a website for them.

I am trying to decide between South Berwick and Sanford. I know South Berwick is $64/yr, but its a bit of a hike. I am in Wells. If Sanford isnt too much and I get access to two ranges it will probably seal the deal for me.

Oh and if by chance you a copy of the range rules, could you forward those along? Thanks!

The fee is $100 a year and it covers both ranges. Try ssf&g and you may get there web site. I ain't much on computers so..... Far as our Berwick range its after the ol Hackamatak theater thingy. (?). Off rt 9. Kinda of hard to find as it looks like a driveway to get in. The entrance and a local house share it, so ...not being a smart aleck. If you go to the range near the airport it has the info on a 4'x8' sheet of plywood. Has there mailing addy on there, Not sure about phone info. If you are really interested and cannot find more info, let me know and I'll go dig out a club news letter and give you more info off it. Bob

Thanks for the info. I appreciate your quick response.

Scarborough Fish and Game Association

Annie B

I am a member at Scarborough. Annual dues are $150 and there is an initiation fee. There is a website with lots of information:

www.scarfg.org

The indoor range has either just opened or is about to open. They will be limiting shooting indoors to frangible ammo which you have to buy from them.

It is no longer convenient for me to be active there so my membership will expire soon. They do have great facilities and a huge membership.

Associated Gun Clubs of Baltimore, Inc. (AGC), located in Marriottsville, Maryland. The Associated Gun Clubs of Baltimore, Inc. was formed on July 1, 1944 when a number of World War II veterans in the Baltimore, Maryland area began looking for a place for recreational and competitive shooting

Hi,

My wife and I are getting into Cowboy Action Shooting and I noticed that there's a new club at the Wiscasset Rod and Gun club (which also appears to be the closest range - not including the Bath Rifle and Pistol club which appears to just have an indoor range), but I can't find any contact information for the club itself. I have talked with the contact person for the CAS group, but he doesn't know how to contact the club directly. Does anyone know if they have a phone number? email? I have not been able to find a listing in any directory and I can't find a website for them.

Thanks,

Rob

I was able to get a hold of the president of the Wiscasset Rod & Gun Club, Bill Cossette, so I'm all set.

Thanks,

Rob

Merry Meeting Sportsman Sportsman’s Association Inc

Merry Meeting Sportsman Sportsman’s Association Inc. is no more. They had to relocate out of Topsham due to encroachment, purchased some land in Bowdoin but just could not put it together financially and ended up selling the land. A shame, I hate to see a gun club that dates back to the 1940's die.
