I used to shoot in Sand Pits in Buxton, Standish, and Limmington. There are a buch of abandoned pits that are regularly used by shooters.

Not sure if that's what you're looking for, but I was never a Member of a gun club untill I LEFT Maine.

These are the two closest that a Guns & Ammo seacrh produced. There's also the Royal River club in New Glouster but it's honestly not worth the effort. Very strict policies have casued many to go elsewhere. Windham.Gorham may still be active but not sure about thier range facilities. I'm a member of Falmouth and it's a very nice facility but will run $100+ /yr plus a one time beginner fee. May be more than what you wish to spend.

There's a state owned area up in Fryburg I believe that folks use for shooting as well. Check with Powder & Patch (carl) or Gulf of Maine Gunsmithing (Bill) and they may have other laces that would work for you.

What about the Scarbrough Club. That isn't too far away..

I just saw that the dues and initation fees come to $200. Bit steep but it is close. Driving 40 miles each way will cost more than the fees.

Been up there once for their match in December. Seemed like a nice group of people. :D
