Patrick's proposed legislation is right out the New York playbook. It reads:
Link to whole proposal.
The effect of the Bill would be this:
1. You can still keep, but NOT TRANSFER 7-10 round mags.
2. All previous 10+ PreBan magazines illegal after one year.
It's spreading, and we need to shut this down. I can only hope that it's not voted on tomorrow a la New York. If you're like me, you're been watching, making some forum posts, maybe renewing your NRA membership. That's not enough anymore.
We can still stop this, but we need unified political opposition.
Find your legislators here and call them tomorrow, and tell them to oppose Patrick's bill. Call them even if you called them yesterday.
Then email them. Then call them again in a few days.
SECTION 6. Said section 121 of chapter 140 of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in lines 57-62, the words “a large capacity ammunition feeding device as defined in the federal Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Use Protection Act, 18 U.S.C. section 921(a)(31) as appearing in such section on September 13, 1994.” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- containing more than seven rounds of ammunition; or (iii) obtained after the effective date of this act and capable of accepting, or that can be readily restored or converted to accept, more than seven rounds of ammunition.
