Can anyone point me to a resource that explains why Glocks are no longer sold new in Massachusetts? I see there is a bunch of models on the EOPS list.

Chris

Glocks fall under the AG's consumer protection regulations because they don't have an LCI or mag disconnect.

They are dangerous enough that only professional police with professional training are allowed to use them lol

This. Despite the fact that quite a few agencies/departments in MA carry them, they aren't safe enough for us mere mortals to carry.

Even though the majority of us here get more trigger time in a year than an average cop does in an entire career.

I had two McKenna stickers ripped off my truck last time - looking forward to having it happen again. Who can recommend a good IR trailcam??

Don't let it discourage you though. You can still buy a Glock in MA, it'll just be an older model or a newer one from a private sale that comes with a premium attached...

Get discouraged, and angry. It is the only way things will change.

AFAIK Glock never submitted their 3rd and 4th Gen models to the state for testing, so MA FFLs can't legally transfer them.

This is partially incorrect, Nearly all the 3rd gens are on the roster, save for maybe the 17L and the 24. So 3rd gens are at least "first tier" compliant but not AG/CMR940 compliant.

Remember, you can buy new Glocks in MA, just not from a dealer.

You can buy as many as you want from a dealer, it's just not legal for him to sell you one. There is a difference. (Although, good luck getting a dealer to sell you one!) The best way of describing this is it's like him selling you a mattress that had the tag cut off of it. It's illegal for him to sell the mattress, but if YOU bought it anyways, you, the consumer, have not committed any crime whatsoever.

Because that F***ING IDIOT helps make the regulations. Anybody ask why The Town of Lee is footing the bill on all his time spent working on this stuff, as well as his time out of town. The cops on his dept are just as glad he is not there. That should say something.

Glidden has nothing to do with CMR940, though... that's strictly the AG's BS... and the EOPS crap is actually codified into MGL, the testing is law, not regulation. Not sure if Glidden had any part in creating that crap, or not, though. CMR940 is the (functionally) more evil of the two, despite the fact that it has less teeth- because it's based on arbitrary criteria.

I'm not clear on this. Is Glidden on an EOPS board or an AG's review board?

Glidden is the Chairman of the GCAB, a board appointed by the Gov'r and authorized by the 1998 Gun Control Act. The GCAB has nothing to do with the AG's office (or the AG Regs) and in fact the AG refuses to participate in their meetings.

Glidden is no longer the Chief in Lee, he retires officially at the end of this month but has been using his accrued vacation time for the past 2 months. He's also moved to a very different area of the state.

The AG has NO review board.

It's because they don't show up on airport x-ray machines. And they cost more than you make in a month

So does that mean i can't get a Glock 21 in the future if i am still living in MAss ? Glock is not a dangerous weapon. The dangerous thing is the finger.

They haven't banned the airsoft Glocks, yet... so you'll be just fine.
