M44 Sight Questions

I've heard that you need to extend the bayonet with and M44 in order for it to shoot properly. Not sure if that would make it shoot low of zero, but it's something to try.

There have been many posts on Mosins shooting too high and people often stick a small piece of black wire insulation over the front sight post and trim to what they need.

Yours on the otherhand shoots low. What kind of ammo are you using? That could be the problem, as could be your sight picture. Worst case is your front post was set wrong during a re-build. No big deal, just adjust the rear leaf.

As far as the Bayonet goes, does it matter if its the folding or detachable one? Do both styles affect the sighting? I have the detachable bayonet, M44, have not shot it yet but looks like its a handfull with the bayonet on it.
