Hi everyone,

I’m currently interested in the idea of attaching a M14 style front sight and flash hider on Mini 14.

The flash hider is $65 ( scroll down, not the first item on the page)
Mini 14 Accessories Ruger Rifle 30 Muzzle Brake Gas Block Compensator Steel Bedding System
But they charge $150 to custom fit the flash hider onto a newer model Mini 14’s .625” barrel.

So it’s like $150 + shipping cost of barrel to mount a $65 item onto a $6-700 rifle.

Can someone school me on how the custom fit service is done to understand the high service charge ?

Because Ruger+accuracy systems =$$$
Spend the $200 on ammo

My bet is they are simply turning the muzzle down to the older, 0.562" Dia. Anyone with a lathe and a pinch of ability could do it.

I didnt see where you mentoned what model Mini-14 you have. With the newer Tactical, it comes threaded. I wanted an M14 look and went with an MFI flash hider, designed for the HK G28, but has the same 1/2 X 28 threads as the AR and Mini-14. $35 and it screws right right on.

(SUPER SALE) MFI HK G28 DMR STYLE MUZZLE BRAKE / FLASH ENHANCER 3.875" LONG IN 1/2 X 28 TPI

Here is what I ended up with:
