One of my next projects is another stock set on a CMP service grade with a GI wood set that is loose.
Buying a "boyds" is tough as so many places sell them and some vendors say they have their boyds built to different specs.
1. Dupage trading claims theirs are to pre 1939 specs.
2.CMP claims WWII reproduction film design
3. DGR now uses boyds from what I understand but to through them fitting them to a house rifle or you can send your rifle to them for fitting.
4. Only other option is the minelli st o k set which runs about $60 more than any of the silage offerings?

I never had all 4 together to compare. I have a DGR stock on my 06 rifle I use for matches. I bought mine when DGR was still getting stocks from wenigs custom st ocks. Much better than the boyds.

So anyone have any input?

I'm really happy with the Minelli stock on my 1903. I also heard good things about their M14 stock, which is currently out of production - or at least it was last summer when I built my M14. If I had to go new stock route for Garand, I would try the Minelli. Brownells might be having a sale + free shipping this weekend too.

Edit, it you have a C&R on file with Brownells, the stock price goes from 176 to 139... and it looks like they are offering free shipping this weekend.

I have a boyd stock set that I took off a Garand I have if your looking for one.

Try bedding it yourself.

Assuming Mac will want to shoot it in a match (he usually does), he can't bed it- against the rules.

Mac, I have that DuPage tiger stripe walnut stock from that sale you gave me a head's up about. Welcome to take a look at it next OCSA match.
