M1 Carbine firing pin specs ? Mine 'miked' at 2.962"...

I've tried everything, but the CMP forum ( as I can't wake anyone up at the controls)

I can't get a read on firing pin specs.....

2.957” so yours is actually a little long.

I will add this, is overall length as good indication as pin protrusion through the bolt.?

Checked that, no problem. I stripped including the bolt but used a cheap Chinese 'mike'...as my good 'mike' went AWOL until this AM. Actually no signs of wear that I could find. It's a mid war round bolt, pointed right lug. I examined the fp carefully under magnification seems GTG
