LTC Renewals - How Long Did it Take You?

For LTC Renewals, how long did it take for you to get it?

Just wondering if LTC renewals are getting better turnaround than people applying for a new LTC.

In general they take less time, but lately everything has been backed up an starting to move quicked

Other than not requiring another class (per MGL, some PDs still do) and new set of fingerprints, the process for renewal is identical to that for a first-timer. They even have to dig up the old prints to re-run them.

Other states do a simplified renewal application (1 page typical) and they do re-run prints. MA makes a big deal about it, which helps drag out the process as long as possible.

When the renewal is done on MIRCS it's at the state in a microsecond. Then comes the wait. Jack.

When I moved to Lowell, I already had an A and was grandfathered.
